Everybody knows that I like to play jokes. Well Travis played a great one on me today. It was so good that when it happened I laughed because I knew that I had been had, that I should appreciate it and move on. So what did he do?
Rickrolling is an Internet meme typically involving the music video for the 1987 Rick Astley song "Never Gonna Give You Up". It is a bait and switch: a person provides a web link that he or she claims is relevant to the topic at hand, but the link actually takes the user to the Rick video. When a person clicks on the link and is led to the web page, he or she is said to have been "Rickrolled". Rickrolling videos available online have been viewed more than 36 million times combined.
Well, Travis introduced me to the concept last weekend and we talked extensively about it. He even managed to get me to watch a video that he said was important - Yes it was Rick.
So this morning, Eva hands me a CD that says Happy Birthday in Travis's handwriting. I thought that he made me a mix CD. I throw it into the computer and the first song is a great original and personalized. I recognize the tune, but I don't know all of the words. Then the second song starts and - well you guessed it - I had been Rickrolled. I never expected it.
Here is the video so that you will know if you get Rickrolled.

Cake and dinner was courtesy of Connie. Thanks. Morgan added a last line that I liked to the end of the birthday song: "I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you,... " Stephen howled at the moon. Craig and Peggy learned the words somehow. Mom put in an order 364 days 23 hours and 45 minutes in advance for me to get the birthday song on my next birthday. Maria likes to celebrate the day afterwards. I still have 48 extra cards from Samantha.Eva feels better. Fun day. Thanks.
Don't forget the movie!
I just got rickrolled.
I HAVE THOSE SAME SUNGLASSES!!!
